One Week Old

Kayla Joan Shaw arrived on Friday, May 8th at 9:30 p.m. weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long.
Kayla had bad jaundice and spent 3 days in the hospital after coming home for two days. We are now finally home and trying to get into a routine.
Mom, Dad and Kayla are doing well but are definitely having a tough time getting used to NO SLEEP! Any tips on getting Kayla to sleep are gladly welcomed.
It's been crazy but I will try to update the blog as often as possible! Thanks to all for the well wishes.

3D Ultrasound

Today we went to get a 'sneak peak' at Baby Kayla through a 3d ultrasound. It was really cool! Below are a few pictures for everyone to enjoy. And one picture, that I think is hysterical, shows us that our baby is definitely a girl.

The ladies who were doing the ultrasound kept saying that she has my nose and has chubby cheeks! Well I sure did have chubby cheeks when I was a kid so who knows. I guess we will see in just a few months :-)

First Trip out of the Country

It's come to my attention that I am 'slacking' on writing here. Since there are no new updates with Baby Kayla I thought I would share some pictures of her first trip (in womb) out of the country!

Corey and I went to the Bahamas and stayed at the Atlantis this past week. Mom-to-be and Baby Kayla made their first trip out of the country. There are a few pictures posted here but if you'd like to see more click here ENJOY :-)

21 Weeks

We found out last week that we're having a baby girl! We couldn't be more thrilled to hear that AND to hear that she's healthy! We've decided to name her Kayla Joan.
So far my second trimester has been great. Other than some minor back pain (mostly after doing too much) I am in good shape! I feel her kicking every night now and we have been trying to put Corey's hand on my belly so that he can try and feel her, not yet though.
I have another doctor's appointment this afternoon but it should be pretty standard. I am looking forward to moving into the new house and getting everything settled. Getting the house set up and getting Kayla's room set up for her arrival!
